David Vuich was a renowned expert in the area of defense, aerospace, security, energy, and transportation. He was an adviser of many high officials both in the Legislative and Executive branches of the U.S. Government spanning the Carter through the Bush administrations. He served as a professional staff member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee for Defense and Military Construction.

Mr. Vuich was known famously as one of the Serbo 7, the seven Serbian scientists who helped develop the Apollo Space Program.

Mr. Vuich was distinguished in many benevolent and non-profit organizations, e.g., American Military Housing Services, National Press Club, We Will Survive Cancer, Summer Opera Theatre, Opera Cameratta of DC, US -Serbia Business Council, and Tesla Science Foundation.

He has been decorated by the Government of Serbia with the Order of the Star of Karadjordje in the First Degree.

Mr. Vuich was a lifelong member of the Serbian Orthodox Church. Starting in his town of birth, Midland, PA where he served as an altar boy in the church, he treasures his Orthodox faith and Serbian heritage throughout his life. The Serbian Orthodox Church of St. Luke in Washington, D.C. was proud to have him and his wife Ginger as our distinguished parishioners.

The memorial service for Mr. Vuich will be held at Saint Luke Serbian Orthodox Church of Washington, DC on Sunday, April 6 at the end of the Divine Liturgy.
